Growing up in San Clemente, California, with his lifeguard and surfing instructor dad, Griffin spent his childhood surfing at Trestles with some of the icons of surf. After a stellar amateur career filled with multiple titles, then winning the Triple Crown at 19, Griffin came out of the gates firing in his first 2018 World Championship event and placed 3rd in the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast. Recently Griffin finished 6th overall during the 20’-21’season.

 

The 23-year-old Olympic hopeful has been on the surf world's radar since 2017, when he became the first Californian to win the Vans Triple Crown. Competition aside, he's known for his happy-go-lucky positive attitude both in and out of the water and is an incredible role model,. Even at 23 years old, he spends a lot of time with the younger generation trying to help push them to their full potential.
